So my first car, my pride and joy, my dream set of wheels is off to Honda-heaven. (I usually call the car lot at the Honda dealership Honda-heaven, but now I have a real donation to the land of crashed cars!)
I recieved a phone call from our Insurance Company and they are counting this as a total loss...with damages over $16 000. Our estimation was way off! Poor car.
I am thankful though...I will be paid out just shy of what I had paid to own the vehicle almost two years ago. Marc and I are both glad for that!
We won't be playing the vehicle buying game right now though...we'll wait until August and see what kind of transportation is going to be needed or wanted at that time.
Another experience for the books...watch our for old people in the rear view mirror when you're approaching a yellow light...unless you don't like your vehicle anymore!

This weekend has been an interesting and eventful one...
Marc and I bought a condo in Lloydminster...don't get excited...we just BOUGHT a condo, not moving there next week! BUT, after this coming year...the wind will take us where it will...(pictures to follow)
The building we're in...
The living room and entrance...
The kitchen and dining space...
Friday, Breanne, Vanessa and I made our way down to Medicine Hat for the second bridal shower. It was great to see everyone and expecially to hug my god-daughter...The gifts were awesome...and Grandma Friedt was there is spirit.
And...Tonight, Marc and I got rear-ended in the Civic...by a 64 year old woman, with her 93 year old mother ina passenger seat. My goodness. We had just stopped at the lights to avoid a red light ticket...and WHAM. The back end of the first car I've own was toast...smashed...done. This has been an emotional night for me. It's tough to see your first car wrecked...expecially when it's not your fault! I guess we'll see how this all turns out. The guy at St. Albert Auto Haus guesses that there's at least $9000 damage. This sucks! I keep crying at odd times. Marc is looking at new cars online already...(sheesh) (pictures to follow)
This is a fake smile...this is not a fun way to spend a Sunday evening!

It's raining...SHOWERS!
Yesterday was the first of the two wedding showers. I was getting more and more excited as the week went by and the weekend came. I had shopped for a new dress and was looking forward to being the center of attention for a moment.
My number one Mom and my number two Mom-to-be, along with my Matron of Honour, Erin and bridesmaid's, Jenn and Vanessa did all the planning, prepping, organizing, and clean-up for the shower. It was hosted at St. Anne School in the library, which was PERFECT to keep the little munchkins occupied.
I walked in to a table covered in gifts. my first thought was, "Where am I going to put all this stuff?!" The company was great, the games were entertaining, and the food was awesome. The gifts were much appreciated on top of it all! I recieved approximately 25 bottles of wine, some wonderful reading material, random kitchen supplies, and some great serving dishes and other gadgets. It all went by so fast..funny how 3 hours can fly!
The following pictures capture the moment...slightly. It was a great time! I look forward to seeing what the Aunties in Medicine Hat have planned for next weekend! (OY!)
I'm not really in pain here..just caught at a bad moment. This is the head piece that Vanessa created with all the ribbons and such from the gifts.
My flower girl, Madison, consumed in a good book.
Another bride...in a beautiful dress. This is Denise Grant, a great friend of mine from school. She's due to get married in August!
A group of grat old friends! ...one of my best gifts was having Jodi Olson show up from Calgary. We hadn't seen eachother since graduation, six years ago. We had a rather emotional reunion! I love you Jo!
Tayler and I have good taste. ;)

I recieved this e-mail from a lady that I work with.
The subject line read: What is love?
This is what a group of kids aged 4-8 said...
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca- age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"
Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"
Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)
Karen - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8

A year ago today, Marc got down on one knee and asked the one question that I had been waiting my whole life to hear.
"Will you marry me?"
A year ago today, I was able to answer that question with a solid, yet delayed by tears;
"YES!"
That day is a bit of a blur in my memory, and looking back on the blogs that we have posted, the past year has offered us many more blur moments.
Right now, I am sitting in our basement suite, it's raining outside, my lunch is made, and I'm ready for bed. Marc is up in McMurray...day 6 of the shift, 4 more get ups until he's home for another weekend of blur.
We've come a long way...and so much more to come.
2 months and 8 days until it's our turn to proclaim our love and be united in marriage.
Love is a decision and loving Marc is the easiest decision that I make in a day.
Marc, thank you for your passion, your respect, your friendship, your faith, and your love. Most of all, thank you for letting me into your life and inviting me to be your wife.
You are loved.
